Well that's our second year of running done, I want to first thank everyone for attending, racing, marshaling, set-up and pack down, donations, good sportsmanship, all the other things that make this club an amazing, vibrant community.
We have come along way in two years, from my first attempts with concrete floor rope and gaffa tape (I don't recommend this combination ;) ) to EVA tiles / carpet rugs, to our current carpet setup. We started running before the (local) introduction of the Losi Micro B, when it was Carismas, MB010s and weird Ali Express specials, and with the introduction of Maverick/Hobby Plus vehicles, and now some new 4WD options, I can only see this style of racing getting better!
Racing micro cars requires it's own set of special skills (and a good magnifying glass :P). Crucially, out of all the styles of racing I am happy it one of the more financially accessible RC hobbies, so it easy for new drivers to dip their toe into this without a massive investment. I am hoping we can encourage new members to join in 2027.
I'm happy to see the improvement of all drivers, and I think this was reflected in the racing. We had a brand new untested track that was a lot more challenging than it looked with jumps that actively discouraged speed, sharp corners, and just enough difficulty to slow down the racing. There were a couple of outstanding high 9 second laps, however the average best lap was around 11 seconds.
At the end of each final we gave out the trophies (thanks to Dan for the printing) and I'm sure our winners put the glow-in-the-dark 1st place trophies somewhere they can look at them all night :P. Thanks to Mike K for the Marshalling cones (I need to get them back to you), thanks Dean for the table (that super helpful). For full race results (which can tell a more accurate story, than I can) go here
As always, please feel free to make suggestions, come up with track ideas, or start another Micro club so I can go :P
... and I hope everyone enjoyed the cake! We will be back on November 14th
